Life Journey
Born and raised in the heart of Brownsville, Brooklyn—a neighborhood marked by adversity but rich in community—Anthony Young's journey is one of resilience, transformation, and unwavering faith. Raised by loving parents alongside his two brothers, Anthony learned early the value of hard work, perseverance, and compassion. Despite growing up amid gang violence and systemic challenges, he developed a deep love for learning and an even deeper love for people.
After relocating to Queens in grade school, Anthony thrived academically and athletically, eventually skipping the 8th grade and earning placement in advanced programs. High school brought challenges of racism and instability, including commuting hours each day through dangerous conditions just to pursue an education. But these trials only strengthened his character and conviction.
Military Service & Corporate Career
Anthony enlisted in the U.S. Army at 17, where he excelled in administration and left with an honorable discharge. Returning to New York, he worked with his father before launching a successful corporate career that began in the mailroom at Merrill Lynch. His dedication and hunger for knowledge propelled him from mailroom employee to one of the youngest African American supervisors in the firm's history. It was during this time he met the love of his life—his wife of 35 years.
His corporate path expanded into trading and foreign banking, ultimately leading him to Colorado, where he raised three sons and built a new chapter.
Calling to Ministry
After a season of hardship, homelessness, and personal reflection, Anthony accepted his divine calling to ministry. He became an ordained priest and founded Freedom Life Ministries, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to prison outreach, faith-driven mentorship, and financial empowerment.
Through his ministry, Anthony preaches the Gospel within correctional facilities, donates clothing and essentials to incarcerated men, and teaches financial literacy to promote long-term stability and reduce recidivism. Today, he serves as a Vice President of Relationship Management, leading a team responsible for over $11 billion in assets, while continuing to pour his heart into his calling: empowering others through the love of Christ and the promise of a better future.
